Sociological analysis Women Craftiness (Sly) in the Persian Folk Tales of the Qajar Era: Based on the School Literature Book

Abstract

Abstract
The present study aimed to desexualize the term "sly" from patriarchal narratives of women's intelligence and determination. The School Literature Book or “Maktabkahneh Literature Book”---a collection of 70 Persian Folk Tales of the Qajar Era; the intellecto-cultural discourse of this period---instruct the basis of this theme. From among 22 of these stories, the term sly has the most frequency. The critique of the present study emphasis on the following points: first, why women are more often the target of these kinds of parochial terminology? Second, why women themselves accept such a patriarchal terminology and apply such a terminology for other women? In the present study--- based on sociological theories---qualitative method and content analysis technique have been used. Reviewing repeated cases in similar stories, it can be concluded that patriarchal and anti-Semitic reading interprets women draftiness sly or deceitful behavior while their gu iles considered talent.
