A Study on Effectiveness Women's Membership in Rural Cooperation Companies on Increase of Employment and Decrease of Poverty among Family Members, Based on Logit Model

Abstract

The purpose of thisresearch is to study the effectiveness of women's membership in rural cooperation companies on increase of employment and decrease of poverty among family members in rural area. This is a descriptive survey study that is conducted by cross sectional method on 60 women members and 60 non-member women in 3 provinces of Marvdasht, Jahrom and Darab in south of Fars State using simple random sampling and logit regression model. Based on goodness of fit test and differential dispersionanalysis, used model was valid and membership as a factor justified most of the possible impacts and also, the results of logit model showed that the probability of increase in employment and decrease in poverty amongwomen's family members who are members of rural cooperation company, heads of family, have active participation and are literate in worst case scenario, are: 68.5% and 43.83%. There are significant differences between responses of 2 groups. With respect to importance of women's membership in rural cooperation companies on increase of employment and decrease of poverty in families, which are contributing factors to social welfare, it seems that development of this units and supportingthem must be noted respectively.
