The Study of Relationship between Communication Models and Couple Satisfaction

Abstract

This article has been studied the relationship between communication models and couple satisfaction to examine the health of the family.
Research samples selected randomly from 200 married and employed people : 50 women and 50 men) in Tehran city. This research has been done by e criptive method (correlation) and data was gathered by employing two questioners: "The Communication Patterns Questionnaire (CPQ)" with three relation subscales (mutual constructive, mutual avoidance, and
demandlwithdraw communication) and a stability range from 80 to 82 per cent. and "Maudsley Marital Questionnaire (MMQ)" with 20 questions in different fields (sexual, non-sexual, and general questions). By Cronbach's alpha, reliability of the questionnaire has been measured 87 per cent for women and 86 per cent for men. The statistical tests for this research were pearson's correlation, t-~est for independent variables, and multivariable regression.
regarding the number of sample population, the results indicated positive and significant correlation between constructive communication patterns and satisfaction from matrimonial relationship in women, in other word, more constructive and without blaming/avoidance relationship leads to more couple  satisfaction, especially among Women.
